MADRID, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) -- Real Madrid sailed into the last 16 of the Copa del Rey with a 5-0 victory away to fourth-tier side Deportiva Minera on Monday.

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti made several changes to his lineup for the match, but his team had little trouble facing a rival that managed just one shot on target all game, compared to Madrid's 21.

Federico Valverde opened the scoring in the fifth minute, capitalizing on a poor defensive clearance to fire home. Eduardo Camavinga doubled the lead in the 13th minute, heading in after Fran Garcia eluded two defenders to deliver a precise cross, and Arda Guler added a third in the 28th with a long-range effort that took a deflection to deceive home goalkeeper Fran Martinez.

Leading 3-0 at halftime, Real Madrid maintained pressure on the Minera goal. Luka Modric added the fourth 10 minutes after the break, finishing off a pass from Brahim Diaz, and Guler completed his brace in the closing stages with the fifth goal of the night.

Real Madrid now travels to Saudi Arabia to face Mallorca in the Spanish Super Cup semifinal on Thursday.

They join FC Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Real Betis, Osasuna, Real Sociedad, Leganes, Celta Vigo, Rayo Vallecano, Getafe and current Cup holder Athletic Bilbao in Wednesday's draw for the next round, along with Almeria, Elche, Pontevedra and Ourense - the four lower-division teams that upset their top-flight opponents.

Valencia visits second-division Eldense on Tuesday in the last tie of the third round. ■
